The Master of Library Science with Certificate in Children’s and Young Adult Literature prepares professionals for careers in libraries and other settings that work with children and young adults. The program provides advanced instruction in children’s and young adult literature, allowing students to engage with literature that presents diverse and interesting characters and plots. Students explore multiple genres of literature, authors, illustrators, and subjects, and learn how these materials can serve children and young adults. The MLS with Certificate in Children’s and Young Adult Literature program is available entirely online.
Accreditation
The Master of Library Science degree program at Texas Woman's University is accredited by the American Library Association Committee on Accreditation, with the status of Continued accreditation. The next comprehensive review visit is scheduled for 2032.

Special Requirements
A cumulative B average must be maintained. Any course with a grade of C cannot be applied toward the student’s degree. Students are allowed to repeat a course once to improve a grade. No graduate library science course may be taken more than twice.
