The Master of Library Science with Certificate in Academic Librarianship program prepares professionals for careers as librarians and information specialists in higher education institutions, including universities, colleges, community colleges, and research-focused organizations. Students receive specialized training that equips them with the necessary knowledge and skills to support teaching, learning, and research, as well as to serve a variety of academic communities. The MLS with Certificate in Academic Librarianship program is available entirely online.
Accreditation
The Master of Library Science degree program at Texas Woman's University is accredited by the American Library Association Committee on Accreditation, with the status of Continued accreditation. The next comprehensive review visit is scheduled for 2032.

Special Requirements
A cumulative B average must be maintained. Any course with a grade of C cannot be applied toward the student’s degree. Students are allowed to repeat a course once to improve a grade. No graduate library science course may be taken more than twice.
