The Post-Master's Certificate in School Librarianship program provides an opportunity for students who already hold a master’s degree in library and information science or another discipline to pursue School Librarian Certification (SLC) in Texas. Students are prepared for careers as school librarians in elementary schools, middle schools, and high schools (EC-12) in the state of Texas. After completion of all program requirements, including passing the TExES School Librarian Certification exam, students are recommended to receive a standard School Librarian Certificate issued by the Texas Education Agency. Students also earn a Certificate in School Librarianship from TWU. The Post-Master's Certificate in School Librarianship program requires a 160-hour, in-person practicum in the field; all other courses in the program are available entirely online.

The Post-Master's Certificate in School Librarianship program offered by Texas Woman’s University meets all requirements of the State Board for Educator Certification for public schools in Texas and is accredited by the Texas Education Agency.
