Graduate Certificate in Nursing Education

Website: https://twu.edu/nursing/certifications/

The Graduate Certificate in Nursing Education (14 SCH) prepares registered nurses to teach in academic and practice settings, with emphasis on learner-centered pedagogy, assessment and curriculum design, simulation and educational technology, and the educator role in quality and safety. Delivered in a hybrid/online format across TWU’s Denton, Dallas, and Houston campuses, the program builds educator competencies for classroom, clinical, and simulation environments and supports workforce development goals across Texas. A face-to-face practicum course allows learners to integrate skills and knowledge of educator competencies into clinical practice or academic practice settings. Graduates are positioned for roles such as clinical preceptor, staff development educator, and simulation educator, and may apply certificate coursework toward further graduate study per TWU policies. (Program does not, by itself, meet NLN CNE® eligibility without graduate-degree requirements; content may support CNE®/CNE®cl competency preparation.
